Made with Best Practice LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Demote mobile application (the "App"), a universal remote for controlling TVs and streaming players on your own Wi-Fi network. This policy explains what information the App handles and how we use it. Demote does not require an account or sign-in to use.
Demote is designed to work without collecting personal information about you. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not require your name or email address to use the App.
To control your TV, Demote discovers and communicates with devices on your local Wi-Fi network. This communication happens directly between your phone or tablet and your TV or streaming player. We do not receive the contents of that activity.
The App uses Google Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics) to understand general, aggregated usage and to diagnose crashes so we can improve reliability. Where used, these services may receive app and device information, event and diagnostic data, and identifiers associated with your app installation. This data is used to operate and improve the App and is not sold.

Demote offers a one-time "Lifetime Unlock – All Features" in-app purchase. Purchases are processed through the App Store or Google Play and managed with RevenueCat, which we use to verify entitlements and restore purchases across your devices.
These providers may receive purchase identifiers, product identifiers, and device/store metadata needed to operate app-store billing. We do not receive your full payment card number. Demote does not use ads or advertising identifiers.
We rely on a small number of third-party services to operate the App. These providers have access only to the limited information needed to perform their function and are obligated not to use it for other purposes:
We retain diagnostic and purchase information only as long as necessary for the purposes described here, or as required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Purchase and entitlement records may be retained by app-store and purchase providers as needed for account, tax, fraud-prevention, and compliance purposes.
The security of your data is important to us, but no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Demote is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" above.
